Southwold Tennis Club hadn’t held a cake stall in recent years and there was some uncertainty about the support we would get and how many members would want to stand in the cold outside Lloyds Bank on a potentially cold day in Spring with the wind whistling around the Market Place.
We need not have worried. Cakes, books and bric a brac came flooding through Sue Sweet’s door on the Friday night. The day dawned bright and chilly. The Swan staff were incredibly helpful putting tables up for us and a small but enthusiastic group of members came along to sell things.
After only three hours, and the arrival of more helpers and lots more cakes we had sold all the cakes and made £210.
We were thrilled!
Thanks to all concerned. We plan to do it again in 2018.
