Hundreds Set To Attend Food and Music Festival in Penarth

Dear  *|FNAME|*

One of the most popular events in the Penarth social calendar is back after a three-year break. Up to 1,200 people are expected at the Street Food and Music festival at Penarth Lawn Tennis Club on May 28th.
The popular event last took place in 2019 when more than a thousand people enjoyed a festival atmosphere in the spring sunshine at the Rectory Road Club.

Club chairman Martin Radford said: ”It’s great to see big social events returning to the tennis club after such a long absence. This year the festival is not only a great opportunity for people in Penarth to get together, it is also raising money for the club’s charity, Velindre Hospital”.

The event will be headlined with Cardiff-based Grooveline - who will get the party going with their selection of 1970s disco and soul tracks. But there is something for everyone - with Penarth-based singer songwriter Jim Pirrie, jazz from The Elijah Quintet, as well as lively sets from T-One and The Little Giants.

Street Food Vendors Bearded Taco, Little Welsh Pizza Co and Doughandco Doughnuts have been booked in with more to be confirmed.

Festival organiser Al Cozens said: “We have a really varied lineup both with the food and the bands! We hope it will bring the community in Penarth together for a long overdue party.”

The event kicks off at 12.30 and continues right through to 8pm. Tickets cost £6 each with children’s tickets just £4 & U5s free. Tickets are on sale online only at Penarth Lawn Tennis Club event tickets from TicketSource.
