Report:  RLTC Ladies Midweek Team v Limpsfield - MATCH LOST 1:3

The weather was fine and the match was close ("more deuces than I can remember playing for a long time", says Lyndsay Halper), but Richmond was ultimately unsuccessful, losing 1:3. Anna Bhandari & Gloria Collar Urquijo got off to a good start, beating the No.2 pair from Limpsfield 6-3 6-4, while Sue Manley & Lyndsay Halper battled hard against Limpsfield's 1st pair before losing out 5-7 3-6.  

Anna & Gloria then fought hard against Limpsfield’s 1st pair, but also lost by the same scoreline. Meanwhile Sue & Lyndsay took a set to recover from their earlier exertions before fighting back to win the second 7-5, taking the final rubber into a match tie-break which, sadly, they lost.

"Putting aside the disappointment of losing," says Lyndsay, "the tennis was good and hard work, which is why we enjoy these competitive encounters and the opposition were nice."
