Congratulations to our younger players who competed in this year's recent Junior Championships.

Three age group competitions were played on a ‘round robin’ basis.

The winner of the Under 10 age group was Leo Sofinsky whose calm, considered shot placement took him to victory.

The Under 12 competition was very close with many of the games going to deuce and tie breaks needing to be played too. The winner was Abigail Green whose powerful shots kept her opponents very much on their toes!

Our Under 15 age group was won by Lottie Kenyon. Each of the matches in this age group was enjoyable to watch due to the lovely style of play along with the determination of the players to give of their best on each point.

The Harold Walker Trophy for the Most Improved Junior Player was presented to Abigail Green. Abigail has improved her technique and really applied the coaching tips she has received to her game. She is one to watch for the future!

Many thanks to the parent umpires who helped the juniors improve their understanding of scoring and tennis etiquette. The lovely cakes and treats provided by parents were very much enjoyed with teas and coffees too.
