BOX LEAGUES

BOX LEAGUES, WHAT ARE THEY?

Box leagues are a FUN way to get some extra matchplay experience with like minded players at Bramford Tennis Club. They provide a great opportunity try out skills that you've been developing in coaching sessions or in social tennis settings such as clubnight.

WHATS THE FORMAT?

Matches will be played as best of 3 sets. The first 2 sets will be regular sets (first to 6 games, 2 games clear) with a standard 7 point tie break played if the score reaches 6 games all. If the score is one set all after 2 sets have been played, a championship tie break (first to 10 points, 2 points clear) to be played as a final set to decide the match.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO PLAY?

The leagues are aimed at adult club members (18+) only. Non-members who are interested in playing will need to first sign-up to club membership via our membership page which can be accessed HERE

WHICH LEAGUES ARE RUNNING AND WHEN?

We are initially going to "pilot" a new app called SCALA and through that app run a MENS, LADIES and MIXED league, all of which will run from 3rd Mar to 24th May (12 week period). If successful, further leagues will be arranged in future.

HOW MUCH IS IT TO JOIN ONE OF THE LEAGUES?

For the pilot leagues, entry is FREE for Bramford Tennis Club adult members though note that the club reserves the right to charge a small fee for future leagues to cover setup and adminstrative costs.

SOUNDS GREAT, HOW DO I GET STARTED?p

  • Download or open the free Scala Sports app (download link: iOS or Android)
  • Search for: Bramford Tennis Club
  • Select the league and hit Join

If you want to take part but are not currently a member you can sign-up to club membership HERE. Note that any non-members who register via the Scala app will be removed from the draw.

HOW ARE MATCHES ARRANGED AND RESULTS REPORTED?

Matches are arranged between the teams on a mutually convenient basis. Make sure to book a court using the online Court Booking facility. Once a match is completed, update the result on the Scala app. All matches to be played within the permitted time window that the league is scheduled for (typically 10-12 weeks).
